Usual story - nothing at the weekend then windy all week - so thank f*ck
for my 4 day week Wednesday afternoons off. A good 2.5 hour session in
glorious sunshine, spoilt only by the usual mid-high tide lumpy bumpy
sh*teness towards the end of the session and then an extremely painful
catapult... Conditions were best at the start when the tide was still low,
when we had "classic Shoreham" (er...) with ramps a plenty breaking from
the beach to a long way out, making it big-mutha-jump-tastic. Unfortunately
I started off on the 4.5 and Skate which very quickly became waaayyy too
big. By the time I had changed down to the waveboard and then the 4.0 the
tide was on its way up and the lump devil was beginning to sh*t all over
the water state. Still, no complaints, a cracking warm and bonkers windy
summer session, one that you look forward to so much when it's mid-winter 8
degrees and pissing it down.
Oh yeah...the catapult...an absolute cracker which somehow I landed with my
crown jewels RIGHT onto the boom clamp at full force. OOOOWWWW.
Excrutiating pain which left me lying in the water howling with agony.
Somehow I managed to waterstart and crawl back to the beach and now 6 hours
later I think I can still have children but f*ck me I hope I never do that
again.
Holiday to El Medano booked today woohoo!!! So now 3 wsfing hols in the
next few months until October to look forward to - Tenerife, Morocco,
Tiree. :)
